Status of device interface in cacti displayed not correct

Post by fzhongjie »

Hi,

Our customer use cacti 0.8.7b. We help them adding network devices and graphics in it.

I found status of some interfaces of some devices are not correct (not all). For example: A catalyst 6500 switch with several interface cards. Some interfaces' status in cacti are UP (It is correct), but some displaying DOWN (Actually they are up and working normally).

I use snmpwalk to obtain interface status. Result is ok.

[root@XXXXXXXXX ~]# snmpwalk -c XXXXXXXXX -v 1 172.28.xx.xx 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.99
IF-MIB::ifOperStatus.99 = INTEGER: up(1)

If I add this device again in cacti, I find status of these interface is all in UP. I just think that this issue might be caused by snmp information not sync in time. But I don't find any button let me refresh it.

Since our customer don't want to lose any history data about this device, and another reason is that this device have several hundreds interfaces in monitoring, so I don't want to remove this device, then add a new one.

Could anyone give me some suggestion or solution about this issue? I will appreciate.

Thanks

Non-traffic data is stored only when a reindex occurs. By default, this happens on device reboot. You may want to change that on a host/data query basis
