IMO, you should be using the latest cacti release regardless and have them fix whatever CDEF issues you're talking about... you have a pm.

Hello all,
I have ran into a issue maybe someone can help out.
I am running Win 2003 server R2 with IIS6. This is a fresh install with the installer package cacti-0.8.7d-1.92x86.exe The main problem I am having is that it seems that cacti is missing from iis, but it is in the correct directory under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cacti The permissions look fine as well..

I solved the problemmariusz wrote: ... 1. All goes fine with small exception (my first problem). Please see upper part of screens. Every page when i'm logged in in Cacti is filled with this text (2nd picture contain page source code).

...
First - there are some strange modifications in C:\\Your_path\cacti\include\global.php (last lines):
Code: Select all
$plugins = array();
//$plugins[] = 'weathermap';
$plugins[] = 'update';
$plugins[] = 'tools';
//$plugins[] = 'syslog';
//$plugins[] = 'ssl';
$plugins[] = 'settings';
//$plugins[] = 'routerconfigs';
//$plugins[] = 'ntop';
//$plugins[] = 'monitor';
//$plugins[] = 'mactrack';
//$plugins[] = 'loginmod';
$plugins[] = 'hostinfo';
//$plugins[] = 'flowview';
//$plugins[] = 'docs';
//$plugins[] = 'discovery';
Second was my failure. Bad source, hosts, templates etc. No big deal Anyway preconfigured Win Xp template works great for me, but only processes amount and traffic. Virtual memory or disk usage is broken. I'm new maybe i done something wrong.
Imported templates for Win (protocols traffic, disk usage, processes) works great. Now i must fight with main task - draytek vigor 3600 ipdslam.
mariusz: Please attach pictures to the forum. Attach c:\install.log to the forum as an attachment. Did you tell the installer to install the plugins? Did you previously have cacti, php, mysql, or apache installed?
MrGutts: What do you mean missing if the files are there? What are your symptoms ?

1. I installed all with default setup. I did not choose/tell to install some extra plugins (is there any way to do this ?!). I just hit install.BSOD2600 wrote:mariusz: Please attach pictures to the forum. Attach c:\install.log to the forum as an attachment. Did you tell the installer to install the plugins? Interesting, because install.log says otherwise -- it installed all the plugins. I just tested the installer on a clean windows xp box and it did not do that. I wonder why...mariusz wrote:1. Instead of using the picture hosting service... in the future, attach them here.mariusz wrote:3. Pictures of .... ? what ? must i attach ?

I ran the all-in-one installer. After the installation, the PHP poller showed several errors when it ran, the errors are related to missing SNMP MIB modules ("cannot find MIB module 'SNMP....'"). I noticed the C:\PHP\extras\MIBS directory is empty. I had to copy the MIB files from another installation of Cacti and the poller began to run ok without any errors. Other than that the installler is flawless. I was up and running in an hour after the installation. I did five or six manual installations over the last few years and really like this installer, it's a real time saver!!!
Hmm, the php 5.2.9 installer is somewhat 'broken' and places the MIB files in INSTDIR\usr\mibs. My installer is suppose to copy those mib files then to your INSTDIR\php\extras\mibs\. Wonder why that didn't happen...nomanlan wrote:I noticed the C:\PHP\extras\MIBS directory is empty. Glad you like the installer otherwise
