Graphing large values problem

Post by celestian »

I am trying to graph results such as:

QUERY:2378356413

But when I try to graph Query (as a counter) the values are NOT just going up. I'm wondering if the number is just to large for something to cope with. Also it shows the query value as 205 on the graph and not 2378356413, on max and the average and last are also similarly small.

I've been unable to resolve this problem so if anyone has some tips or links that would be great.

Depends if that number should be treated as a counter or gauge. read the rrdtool manual about their differences. Also, in the data template make sure the MAX DS field is correctly sized.

Thanks for the pointers I'll review the linked URLS. Changing the setting to guage does seem to have resolved the majority of my problems so far.
