F5 LTM Pool Stats

Post by scruboy01 »

Based on the original BigIP template by tgravvold (Thank you!), I have created the additional templates for Pools and Pool Members.

The Pool templates are ready to go but I'm having some issues with the Pool Member templates. The verbose query works and when creating the graphs, the data sources and graph titles show up correctly. However, the RRA files are never created and the Custom Data fields are not populated on the data source page. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Attached are the zips for these templates. Copy cacti_data_query_f5_ltm_-_pool_member_statistics.xml and cacti_data_query_f5_ltm_-_pool_statistics.xml to <path to cacti>/resource/snmp_queries. Import the remaining files.

4/21/2009 - Fixed data query names and bigip reference.

6/26/2009 - Fixed PoolMemIndex in index_order

f5_bigip_pool.xml seems to be missing.

Which template is asking for f5_bigip_pool.xml? The name and all references should have been changed to f5_ltm_pool.xml

Pools statistics Data Query has a reference to it:

<xml_path><path_cacti>/resource/snmp_queries/f5_bigip_pool.xml</xml_path>

Pool member statistics is referring another xml file which seems to be missing:

<xml_path><path_cacti>/resource/snmp_queries/f5_ltm_pool_mem.xml</xml_path>

Or am I doing something wrong?

No, I just used the names from the exports and forgot to rename them.

cacti_data_query_f5_ltm_-_pool_member_statistics.xml should be f5_ltm_pool_mem.xml

cacti_data_query_f5_ltm_-_pool_statistics.xml should be f5_bigip_pool.xml. You could also rename it to f5_ltm_pool.xml and correct it in the data query.

Can you post some screen shots of the graphs?

I am getting "Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]" on the query and when I do a verbose debug it shows no errors and returns results. What version of BigIP was this tested on?

edit:

found under the sub-query this error:

Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /var/www/html/data_queries.php on line 443

researching that now

It is for LTM (BigIP) v9.x

I guess F5 renamed it to differenciate between the two (v4 and v9).

I have made no progress on the "Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]" issue. Anyone else have that and overcome it?

I'm also not having any luck with the member stats... I've resorted to manually creating data sources and graphs using the generic oid template...

With the pool member template, I was able to get results from the query, but the graphs and rra files would never be created.
