Cron is out of sync with the poller interval

Post by hapklaar »

I'm seeing some out of sync warnings in the cacti logfile. Cacti however seems to work fine. Any idea how I can get rid of these warnings?

How did you install cacti? Source, rpm, or other?

Do you have to pollers running?

I've installed it using apt-get install cacti on my Ubuntu box. There is only one poller running afaik, from /etc/cron.d/cacti

*/5 * * * * root php /usr/share/cacti/site/poller.php >/dev/null 2>/var/log/cacti/poller-error.log

Append poller.php with --force to make the poller run regardless of checks.

I'm not sure how that would help with the sync issue, but a reboot of the box ultimately fixed the cron issue. Guess I'll never know why the cron was delayed from time to time.

It would help as the sync messages are no longer displayed with the --force option.
