hroyd,

911ms would mean 911 milli seconds round-trip time from source to destination. The packet loss in the jitter-error graph directly represents what you see when you run 'show ip sla oper' command.

By the way, I do not maintain this thread any more and you can get updated templates from following thread:

hwon wrote:The ms is milli not micro. Cacti and the script merely displays the data that was retrieved via SNMP with some exceptions for jitter to make the value negative. That being said, depending on your version of IOS, there is a sub command when you configure the probe to gain micro precision which is 'precision microseconds'. Never tried but worth a shot. Be sure to update this forum as now I am curious :>
I'm running rtr responder on cisco 2600 using IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-I-M), Version 12.3(10b), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3).
I collect jitter and jitter/error graph using cacti.

In jitter graph (the unit is ms) I got value 275.68 m. What is the meaning of 'm' here ?

In jitter/error graph (the unit is ms) I got packet loss value average 10.42 m and maximum 1.88.
What is this mean?

Here is the graph

I have the same qustion as marmoci. Can someone help to explain what is the "Loss (S -> D)" unit? Below is my graph, I found "Loss S -> D" Avg is 806.38u and Max is 566.67m. What "u" and "m" means?

Thanks for posting this. We now encourage contributors to publish their work at the central cacti repository at http://docs.cacti.net/templates

Hello all,

I have configured SAA capabilties on my network to graph network values but i am not able to analyse the Loss value.

Could you tell me how to analyse the result on the graph to evaluate the number of lost packets ? I don't understand the scale on the graph.

On the 'Y' axis I have a time reference, but Loss packet value have to been explain in : Number of packet lost.

Someone could explain this feature ?
Thanks in advance

hwon wrote:As far as I know, if you define jitter probe, it will also do UDP RTT measurement. When you are getting zero on the RTTaverage, what do you get on RTTMax and RTTMin? Can you post the jitter error graph result? You are correct in that the template is using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42.1.2.10.1.1, This is done since there is no RTTAve value in jitter oid branch.

FYI, here is sample graph for voice scoring, with following IOS config:
Version 12.3(14)T6

ip sla monitor 3
type jitter dest-ipaddr 4.2.2.4 dest-port 11111 codec g729a
threshold 120
tag g729a
frequency 300
ip sla monitor schedule 3 life forever start-time now

as mentioned in couple posts in this thread, you have to put cisco_saa.xml into resource/snmp_queries/ (do not import it through cacti import)

Hello!

I'm using this template and it works well. Do you think it's possible to have the LOSS values printed (GPRINT) in percent instead of 'micro' or whatever read?

Thank's

Simon
