In the page http://www.raxnet.net/links.php I read: "Also, if you are interested in raXnet's cacti, be sure to check out NetMRG, a great network monitoring solution."
Looking for in in Google returned the above page and Brady Alleman's Homepage (http://www.treehousetechnologies.net/brady/).
Any URL we can know about it ?

What about NetMRG ?

I really can't speak for NetMRG since I did not participate in its developement, however it is a very cool product.
It focuses a lot more on the network monitoring part than cacti does because it contains things like events and can re-act to various network conditions. It of course makes very extensive use of rrdtool and is much more "automatic" about graphing than cacti is. It also uses a threaded c app to gather data. He has quoted gathering over 1000 SNMP interfaces in about 20 seconds... now that's fast!
Anyhow, I'll try to get him to post something to the message board so you can see what his plans are.

Hello all,
Apologies to any who have sent me e-mail and to which I haven't responded. I have tried to keep up with that, but apparently there are a few exceptions.
I also must say that I get a chuckle out of all of you who try to guess an URL for a 'hidden' NetMRG webpage (there have been more than a few examples in my HTTP logs).
NetMRG is presently under development, and is in use by the ISP I work for. Its capabilities are comparable to Cacti, with considerable differences. In some regards, NetMRG already has the component referred to as 'spine' in Cacti development, an efficient non-PHP data gathering program.
I do not presently have a web site devoted to NetMRG (although I have been developing one), nor a public demo site (but that should be coming shortly). I do intend to release NetMRG to the public at some point (early summer is my goal).
The best way to describe the 'purpose' for NetMRG is a fusing of the graphing capabilities of Cacti and other RRD-based projects with the monitoring and reporting capabilities of NetSaint (now Nagios).
Thanks for your interest.
