Hi all,
I am new to linux and forgive me if these are silly questions but, I have downloaded red hat 5, the 30 day trial version and am trying to get snmp to work. I wonder if anyone can give some good online yum repositories for snmp and other rpms? I presume i dont have access to the offical Red hat ones as am not supported in the trial version?
Also is there a step by step guide for installing snmp because there seem to be alsorts of depensdancy issues when I am installing it?
Many thanks
SNMP and Yum with red hat

Please find a "all in one" CentOS based CactiEZ image at http://cactiusers.org. Very much recommended as a start. You will have access to CentOS repositories which are kind of dups for RHEL.

If you consider Cacti as "this software" please notice that it is mainly a PHP application, spiced with a bit of javascript and, as thus, quite platform independant. Spine, the fast poller, has to be compiled on your platform (or downloaded via package manager).chrisvai777 wrote:Many thanks for help, the tool looks great, Sorry if this a silly question but does this software install onto a red hat box or is this a completely different installation OS wize?
many thanks
