A question about APC PDU monitoring with Cacti

Post by borja.arranz »

Hi:

I see in this forum some topics about templates and daemons for monitoring APC PDUs with Cacti.

I'm trying to do that and i have a few questions. The PDUs have an IP inside the network 192.168.1.0 and the appliance that manage the PDUs called Infrastruxure Manager has an IP 10.20.0.10, my first question is what device i have to add on Cacti for view the PDUs, the appliance or all the PDUs?
I imagine that will be the appliance, and do that i imagine that if i create graphs on the device appeared the PDUs like a Switch or a Router.

What version of SNMP use the APC Infrastruxure Manager?

Thanks

I suppose you will have to add the appliance but provide a parameter to a script querying the appliance to let it know which PDU should be dealt with.
A different approach would be to write a script that _always_ asks the appliance and takes the "host" parameter to query the correct PDU
