[TODO] Mactrack not handling multiple IP to Mac relationship

Post by bmaltais »

I noticed an odd thing. On our switch we have Windows Clustered servers with multiple virtual IP. Here is a show command illustrating the issue:

Code: Select all

sh ip arp | include 0011.8566.cdbe
Internet  10.1.60.178           162   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160
Internet  10.1.60.177           162   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160
Internet  10.1.60.176           162   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160
Internet  10.1.60.175           162   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160
Internet  10.1.60.171             1   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160
Internet  10.1.60.170           162   0011.8566.cdbe  ARPA   Vlan160

sh mac-address-table | include 0011.8566.cdbe
*  160  0011.8566.cdbe   dynamic  Yes          0   Gi10/14
As you can see there are multiple IP address associated with a single mac. Mactrack will only list 10.1.60.178... and not the other ones... and this is really confusing when doing search by IP.

Would there be a way to keep track of all IPs bound to a single MAC?

Are you still using MacTrack? Would you be able to troubleshoot this problem with me? I am working on a MacTrack 2.0 and this issue needs to be resolved, but I need someone to test.
