Data Query Returned 0 Rows

Post by bhart »

I have created several devises (cisco) that are working fine. I recently added a new device. The snmp resolved like it should. When I went to add a graph for this device, it showed the data query returned 0 rows. I ran the query in debug mode and it should all the interfaces and subinterface in the output. I checked all my previously created graphs and the graphs still exist, but when you look at the data query for the those devices there data queries showed the same thing. Any Ideas.

I've had the same issue a couple times. I just keep re-running the query until it succedes. I attribute it to snmp timing out. If it takes around say 3 seconds for the transfer to complete.... then some of the time it takes 2.9 seconds and it works, and other times it takes 3.1 seconds and you get nothing. I don't know if that's correct or not, but if I can view it once (either in debug or whatever) then I can get it anywhere else, I may just have to refresh it a few times first.

Mine is taking about 25 sec to run the query in normal or debug mode. Is there a way to change the snmp time-out?

Acutally, it looks like it only takes a long time when I am querying devices with 50 or so subinterfaces. When I queryed a device with 5 interfaces, it took 6 or 7 sec. Both queries listed all the info in the debug section, but 0 rows. ??

I believe the SNMP timeout is a per-host option. It is milliseconds, so you want to make yours something like 25000.

Actually, I don't guess it could be a time-out issue. If it were, the short queries would work and the long ones would not. Thanks for the time.
