Gaps in Graphs for all new devices

Post by bigchoice »

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this problem.

All newly created graphs are gaping very badly. Any device, or graph that i created, let's say over a month ago are fine. They update and graph properly. Any graphs that i have created recently suffer from this gaping problem. I am using cacti 0.8.7b on linux centos 4.6. I have tried rebuilding the poller cache, deleting the cacti.log file and increasing the key_buffer_size in my.cnf, no luck. Still gaping.

I have noticed a few very strange things. When i try to view the cati log file (from cacti) in debug mode, i get no data. I am only able to view warnings and stat messages. I also do not see any data returned when i run:

php -q /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php

I have give 777 permissions to the cacti/rra directory, so i know permissioning is not an issue there.

Im not sure if this is related, but i figured i would mention it. Anyway - i've been killing myself trying to get to the bottom of this. Any suggestions are welcomed. thanks.

What is your load average? Don't log in DEBUG. Logging in LOW first, to see the obvious errors. You should almost never go above LOW, unless you are developing templates, or debugging a problem with someone here.

Load average is under 50%, when you say "low" I assume you mean warning and stat messages?

thanks

What poller are you using? cmd.php or spine? Is the poller running out of time?

If you're using cmd.php, I'd suggest installing and using spine :)
