Yes it runs under Windows (if Cacti for Windows has been installed on it). It is fully written in php.

Hello,

I think you have tested the modified version of cacti publish above
First make sure you are using the standard cactistoric-0.8.5-0.04 and standard cacti-0.8.5. If you are using another addon you may have problem. Also this modified version works only on 0.8.5 not any other release of cacti.
Then before applying any modification to cacti make a copy of your cacti directory

I re-published the modified version of cactistoric including all the files, try to apply it again. I hope it will solve the problem.

If this doesn't work another test you can do is :
- to download the original files from htttp://linkdown.org/downloads.php?lng=english
- then change only the files that have been modified

I hope this will solve the problem.
I have developed it on WIndows XP but because it is only php code it should work on any platform as well

Hello,

a) For your error "Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in c:\inetpub\lib\rrd.php"
Have no idea ??
May be you have installed cactistoric after rrd files have been created
You may need to resize them see
doc\html_onepage\cactistoric-0.8.5-0.04-en.html

But before resizing the file I recommend you to save them in order to be able to restore them in case of problem

b) For "all graphs are very small"
May be look at the panel Settings and you may find an option to increase the size of these thumbnails graphs.
The option can be
- height / width
- single pane
- preview mode / tree mode

Try the options one after the other, and then click on the different tab "preview", "tree" to really teake them into account enad see the effects

I hope this can help you, otherwise for the moment I have no idea

ah, thanks, ok i get this with the lengh and width :)

i think your right in point of the resize, now i know why i haven't resize my graphs, because i haven't a script for windows, the command parameters in the help file you are listened are for unix, have somebody a skript to resize the wrong rrd's in windows envoiroment?

i hope so..

and again.. thanks for your understanding in my incompetence and your time spend to help me! :)

Asnwer to ghandi about rrdtool resize

Post by Didier »

For the rrdtool resize, it should exist on your windows computer if you cacti is working. You should have copied rrdtool.exe on c:\rrdtool i assume.

just open a command shell
then type
cd /d c:\rrdtool
rrdtool resize .....

NB: But make a copy of all your rrd file before testing it in case of problem

As you can see below, I have the option on my XP computer

C:\rrdtool>rrdtool.exe resize
RRDtool 1.0.40 Copyright 1997-2001 by Tobias Oetiker <tobi@oetiker.ch>

Usage: rrdtool [options] command command_options

* resize - alter the lenght of one of the RRAs in an RRD

rrdtool resize filename rranum GROW|SHRINK rows

RRDtool is distributed under the Terms of the GNU General
Public License Version 2. (www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html)

For more information read the RRD manpages

hi didier and thanks for the information, i know what your'e writing, i have read the manpage of the resize option, but i doesn't understand it.

how can i resize all the broken graphs? with c:\inetpub\rra\*.rrd it doesn't work, and whats the meaning of rranum and GROW|SHRINK rows.

thats my problem i think, can you post your command that you uses to resize all your graphs?

i hope with your command i will understand this at all...

thanks again! ;)

Do you know that the rrdtool resize fucntion create the resize.rrd file. This file keeps the modification, it is the resulting file, after you must work on it.

I have detailed the procdure a little more in the joined file.
Hope this can be useful.

The script given by bruno PRIGENT must certainly be adapted very easily in DOS, with a script such as

for ... call subroutine
goto :eof

:subroutine
....
goto :eof
