Need help for installing PA

Post by ahtshun83 »

hi all,

i download PA 2.4 from the download section..i extracted the fille called cacti-plugin-0.8.7d-PA-v2.4. There is a folder called "files-0.8.7d"

i followed this guidelines "http://cactiusers.org/wiki/PluginArchitectureInstall"

1. do i copy all the files inside "files-0.8.7d" to my cacti install path /var/www/html/cacti or just copy files-0.7d folder to cacti folder?

2. According to the guide,i dont know where to edit the database logon "First you will need to re-enter your database username and password (you can just pull the info out of your backup of your old includes/global.php). " -> do i edit the config.php at /var/www/html/cacti/include/config.php ?

please help me...Thank you!!

I'm using cacti 0.8.7d on CentOS 5.2.

finally i managed to install monitor plugin. However, under console->settings,there is no option called "plugin management".

here is the steps on how i install the monitor plugin
1. download and extract PA(cacti-plugin-0.8.7d-PA-v2.4.zip) from cactiusers.org
2. download and extract monitor plugins(monitor-0.8.2.tar.gz) from cactiusers.org
3. copy all files insides folder "files-0.8.7d" to /var/www/html/cacti folder. Overwrite if prompt
4. Copy monitor folder to /var/www/html/cacti/plugins
5. edit the global.php located at /var/www/html/cacti/include/global.php

please assist me!! Correct me if i miss out any important steps!!.

Thank you!!

finally i found a solution...in order to get the plugin management option,i need to import pa.sql..

imported using this command " mysql -u (your user) -p cacti < pa.sql "

go to console->user management -> click on the user -> tick "plugin management" and save.
