no graphs after update from 0.8.7b

Post by Heiko »

Hello,

i just updated cacti and now it stopped writing any graphs from time to time
my logfile is flooded with:

03/09/2009 10:50:51 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error:'1062', SQL:"insert into poller_output (local_data_id, rrd_name, time, output) values (3571, 'hdd_total', '2009-03-09 10:50:50', '963673436160')'

I cant attach an picture, but I have huge holes in my graphs now.
Everything worked fine before I did the update.

how can I get this working again?

I have just upgraded from Version 0.8.7b to Version 0.8.7c

I lost all my graphs (graphs were just showing a place holder) and could not get into the "Graph Management" page.
I checked my http error log and found this:

function rrdtool_execute($command_line, $log_to_stdout, $output_flag, &$rrd_struc = array(), $logopt = "WEBLOG") {

I am a php hacker, by no means a php programmer, I am unsure what the & of &$rrd_struc = array() does but it is new to ver .c, another copy of cacti I have on another server does not have the &.

So in true hack and see fashion I deleted it!
And all works. (so far).

So cacti gurus what is the & for and why was I getting errors?

[client x.x.x.x] PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /var/www/cacti/lib/rrd.php on line 68, referer: http://x.x.x.x/cacti/graph_view.php?act ... &leaf_id=7

Went to /var/www/cacti/lib/rrd.php on line 68 and found this

Upgrade your PHP version

I think I had this same problem. I was on PHP 5.1. I then upgraded cacti, and saw errors like this. So I proceeded to upgrade to PHP 5.2 which resolved all of these issues.

Give this a shot and see what happens.

This has been solved with 087d
