All my graphs are missing data for random time intervals

Post by spanders »

I'm using cacti to monitor only 1 Linux based host (localhost) and have 6 stats being gathered. Everything is installed and appears to be running correctly, however I have many random gaps in my graphs where there is no data being plotted. The host is not going down at these times so I'm not sure why the data is missing. The graph properties are listed below.

Cacti Version 0.8.7d

Here is a link to see an example of my graphs: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/x1 ... directlink

Any ideas on what the problem is?

How is anyone supposed to help you without anything to go on? Did you at least check your Cacti log? Try these:

edit: When I posted your post was empty, so pardon my tone. Still though, check the cacti.log (under Utilities), you can also check the web server logs for errors. Once you have an idea of what is going on the solution should be contained in the links below.

Information missing

For some reason my original post was blank, I think something in my text filtered out the whole post.

cron

I think it was a multiple cron job issue. I didn't know my yum installation of cacti put a file in /etc/cron.d/
