Hy,

i added an snmp host with snmp interface query, added the interface traffic template and startet the polling script and got this :

is this a snmp problem or a configure mistake ??

This looks to be a configuration issue. Click on "Data Sources" and select a "Traffic" data source. In the "Supplemental Data Template Data" box, there should be two headings that start with "Data Source Item Fields". Can you tell me what it says inside of brackets for both of these?

I am experiencing this issue as well and I check where you specified and this is what I have:

But when running php in a terminal, I get ERROR: Duplicate DS Name: traffic_out, twice. It then proceeds to give me an error stating that it can't open the .rrd file because there is no such file

Would you happen to be using the Debian package of Cacti?

I don't think I am. I believe I dl'd the cacti RPM from your site. Should I go find one specific to RH9?

Update 8:43AM, I dbl checked and the RPM came from a RPM repository(DAG RPM Repository)

It shouldn't matter where you are getting your RPM. I asked about Debian specifically because a large number of Debian users seem to be experiencing this issue. If you take a look at bug#231 here:

This user is experiencing this same problem. In their case it looked like a certain configuration mistake was causing the problem. However I verified their steps (albeit incorrect) and it did not cause the said issue for me (only an extra broken graph).

Did you following a similar set of steps to create your traffic graph as the user that reported this bug? If so, perhaps we can find a pattern here...

It appears as though there may have been a bug with the RPM. I am using Redhat 9 and used the cacti RPM from the DAG@Linux Repository. I used RPM to remove the package and dropped the database from MySQL. I then extracted the .tar from your site to the /var/www directory and renamed it cacti. I created a system user for cacti. I then followed the instructions for importing the default database and creating the mysql cacti user. Deleted the default localhost device and recreated it using SNMP and viola, I had my traffic statistics.
