Weathermap Problem

Post by ifti »

I have configured cacti 0.8.7d and PHP Weathermap 0.96test2, every thing looks fine with cacti bcz i can create graphs for cisco router, but when i try to create weathermaps, i can not 'add nods' and 'add links' on weathermap, i can 'add position legend' and 'position time stamps' in weathermap. when i see httpd log and mysqld log it looks fine but when i see cacti.log it shows this in the log

"CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error:'1146', SQL:"INSERT INTO plugin_realms (plugin, file, display) VALUES ('weathermap', 'weathermap-cacti-plugin.php', 'Plugin -> Weathermap: View')'"

I have checked the mysql database i have tables like

Weathermap_auth
weathermap_data
weathermap_maps
weathermap_settings

I can add tables with my cactiuser in mysql database.I have tried a lot to resolve this problem but could not, please assist me for this

thanks in advance.

Do you have a table called plugin_realms? That is created by pa.sql - the error isn't from weathermap. You need to manually import pa.sql when you install the plugin architecture.

However, I don't think that is stopping you creating nodes. Run check.php and I think you will find your gd library has a bug in it. You don't say what OS you have, but if it's Debian Etch or Ubuntu then this is fairly likely the problem.

It's in the FAQ, there's a script to check for it as part of the weathermap distribution, but anyway, here's the fix too if that's the problem:

http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t ... ght=debian
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

thanks for the reply Howie

Actually i have RHEL4 installed on the server, when i opened check.php in the browsers it showed me

"Some features of Weathermap will not be available to you, due to lack of support in your PHP installation. You can still proceed with Weathermap though."

That's interesting... and if you run php check-gdbug.php from the command-line?

Next guess would be a low memory-limit in php.ini, but check.php should have warned you about that, too.

What actually happens when you try to add a node?

Nope. We got past the risky part, so that's good.
Your GD library looks healthy.

I m also getting the below error in httpd err log file

Unrecognised config on line 5: // vim:ts=4:sw=4:
Unrecognised config on line 6: ?>
Unrecognised config on line 1: <?php

What do you mean by "can't"?

What actually happens when you try to add a link?

(those error messages make it look like Apache is trying to read a PHP file as config, but we'll come back to that)
