problem after upgrading to cacti 0.8.7c and spine 0.8.7c

Post by atrias »

hello

I had a perfectly working 0.8.7b cacti with 0.8.7a spine

my system is linux centos 5.2 with php 5.1.6 and 287 data sources

after upgrading to 0.8.7c cacti (i needed the snmp or ping down detection!) i get a lot errors like this:

Code: Select all

02/11/2009 11:02:15 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] WARNING: SS[2] The PHP Script Server did not respond in time and will therefore be restarted
02/11/2009 11:02:15 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] WARNING: SS[0] The PHP Script Server did not respond in time and will therefore be restarted
which result in empty spaces in the graphs

I updated to spine 0.8.7c and the problem is still there

Any ideas anyone?

Wow, that's bad.
Please install 087d and change the mysql table "version" of cacti db accordingly. I may very well be possible, that some tables do not like this approach

i used the mentioned patch from bugs in 0.8.8 and it did not work

then i installed the latest version (4932) of lib/ping.php from the svn and until now (15+ poll cycles) the error hasn't appeared!

i believe that everything is fine now! :D

now i'm just expecting the plugin architecture to appear for 0.8.8 (i believe that i will wait long :( )

Waiting for 088 may indeed take time. Be assured, that PIA has already been integrated some months ago. So it WILL be there, full stop.
But 088 is not functional ATM.

can you please give me the SQL query required to change the cacti version so I can then install cacti 0.8.7d ?

it seems that 0.8.8 has other problems that i hadn't noticed till now!
I cannot add devices! :D :D
