I've updated the posted template with the following changes:

2. Split the graphs into two. One for displaying frames and one for the traffic.
3. Traffic is displayed in bytes/sec not in words/sec
4. Remove max values in data sources.

While I like most of the changes, my SAN administrator has requested the option for the max values. How do I re-enable this in the graphs?

Forgive me but I'm a total cacti newb.
I can't seem to get the port numbers on my brocades to display properly.
I followed the directions earlier in this thread.
For example
I'm seeing ports 1-16, 1-32
when i should see 0-15, 0-31

I believe that this is a limitation in Cacti. I know, it's annoying. The "index_order_type" can only be specified as numeric or alphabetic and numeric simply starts numbering at 1. Someone jump in an correct me if I am wrong about this.

Wonderful templates. They work great on the HP Storageworks San Switch 2/32 we have. Including snmp interface statistics for the weathermaps, but I can't seem to get any snmp interface statistics for the Storageworks 2/16 switches we have.

These are the type NA2107. These are HP rebranded Brocade switches 2gbit 16 ports. When I look at creating snmp interface statistic graphs, I only get to see the ethernet port (fei0) and the loopback port (lo0) but none of the fiberchannel ports.

Is this a lack in snmp functionality on the switch devices, or are there different MIBs to adress for these switches?

When I do a verbose query on the snmp interfaces I get this result only: (attached file)

Hi,

I can't seem to find the option you put up in the picture. What fabric os version are you running on your 2/16? The san guy here has Fabric OS version 3.2.1c installed.

The other switches seem to have a newer version fabric os, and they do have this option. Which is set to disable btw. And on these switches I have no problems monitoring them.

The template attached in the thread "Brocade template and scripts" for 0.8.6c didn't work for me. I have installed the current version 0.8.7.

Is there a new template? do I need to make any changes before importing it from UI?

I also think that it is a limittation of cacti that an interface index can't start with 0. On the other hand I think that it would be usefull to have the correct Port in the Graph (as example FC Port 0/0). The correct Port information is visible under the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2

My question is if this infromation could be referenced to the SAN Switch template above so that my users receive a graph where the can see which interface the graph belongs (and they don't have to think that port 0 on the switch will be graph with port 1 etc.)

I'm not quite sure if i understand it the rigth way. i imported the template and startet graphing some interfaces.

when i choose "Brocade FC Switch Traffic" as graphic template the graph shows TX/RX words but if i understand you correctly the Traffic display should be bytes/sec, right (point 3) ? If i'm correct the template alerady does the math needed to transfer words into bytes (multiplied with 4).

i also have to decide if it is worth having to different graphs (words and bytes). probably i will merge everything back to one graph

Meh, ill just post my cleaned up templates...
As tomer noticed, i changed "units per second" to "bytes per second" as the Traffic graphs where multiplying by 4 already. Changed the traffic graph colors aswell.

Edit: Removed the template. Use my template/data queries further down.

The legend along the Y axis is still labeled units per second. The data in my graphs are labeled both 'k' and 'M'. The legend calls it TX/RX Words.

Are these measurements in bytes and the Y axis legend hasn't been updated?

Yes, you are right in your assumption that the measurement is in bytes (elcody02 is using a CDEF for it) but forgot to update the Y-axis and legend.

Data-, graphtemplates and data query is included in my previous template.
But i forgot to include the fan/temp templates. And thus i created a dataquery for them aswell (they where indexable and didnt need to spam data templates).

So here is an exported Host template (with dependencies) which contains a fixed version of elcody02's templates and a fan/temp-sensors template. Also included are the data_query xml's used.
Exported from 0.8.7d, all patches applied.

Remember that dependencies include any custom RRA/CDEF from my Cacti-system. Please have a look at your own and back them up. In fact, take a whole backup for the sake of it, you never know...

Edit:
Apparently the CDEF i use in the graph template (LAST) isnt included in the dependencies, so if you want to use LAST you have to go to Console->Data Sources->RRAs and add LAST to the selection for all of the RRAs.
If you want to use AVERAGE instead, please change the graph template, LAST -> AVERAGE.
