mail notification when link goes down

I have installed cacti in linux & its running fine . Please guide me how to configure mail alert notification when link goes down.

I am using "monitor" plugin, it sends me an email everytime cacti cannot connect to my hosts. It will email again when the connection is restored...

You can download monitor plugin (and other plugins for Cacti) from here:

Make sure you read the readme file...

There may be other ways to do what you want accomplish, but I know monitor plugin will work. You can try searching for "cacti plugin" in google to find other ways.
