localhost/cacti 404 not found -- using debian, apache2

Post by craigh09 »

Hi

I followed the guide at:
http://www.cahilig.org/how-install-cacti-debian-etch

But can't get anything going. Looked at various posts, tried:

- modifying httpd.conf
- accessing http://localhost/cacti/logout.php to test but unsuccessfull
- modifying php.ini file

Can anyone help?

I am getting:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

and have to use mysql -u root -p and then manually type the password in order to log in.

php -m shows:

The database setup in ./include/config.php seems to be wrong. You must supply a valid mysql userid along with the password.
It is known, that debian deviates from cacti file naming conventions, so it is possible that the config.php is named differently
