How to monitor Hitachi Storage Arrays with Cacti

Post by clearthought »

Was really frustrated with low quality software from Hitachi. Hacked together some perl scripts with cacti and now have a really good monitoring system for the SUN SE9985 which is the HDS NSC55.

The HOWTO is here http://www.clearthoughtinc.us/kb/index. ... ctihitachi

Hope this post helps someone out there !!!!

How to setup host for the array?

Post by kkoduru »

Hi Vinod

I had setup the scripts as suggested and imported the data/graph templates into cacti. How do I setup the host, since there is no host-template? Do i point it to the SVP and use the generic snmp/ucd?

Thanks

how to specify password in the command.txt?

Post by kkoduru »

I am getting error while running the perl script. The command.txt file has the login name as root but there is no field for password. Is there a way to add it to the file? The error log terminates with "login failed [line=2]"

Thanks
