Cacti doesn't generate graphic for extreme switch in stack

Post by rogermurao »

My Cacti is working fine.
I use the Cacti 0.8.7b and rrdtool rrdtool-1.2.28-bin-w32.

I have many extreme switches 450X and the graphs are right, but I installed 4 extreme switches 450X in stack and added the graphs on the Cacti, but the graphs doesn't work.
The management of the stack switch it's ok.

I use the software Getif and the graphs are rights.

RRDTool Command:

C:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \

I strongly suggest you use rrdtool 1.2.26 WIN32. .28 has bugs.

You should also read http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 on how to troubleshoot this issue.

I did a downgrade to rrdtool 1.2.26 WIN32 version. But the problem remains.

I read the documentation that you recommended. I will do others tests.

Hi,

I created a new graph with SNMP - Generic OID Template and the Cacti got to create the rrd file.

But when I use the SNMP - Interface Statistics for generate the graphs. The Cacti doesn't create the rrd files.

Does verbose query of the ' SNMP - Interface Statistics ' return data? Post it here.

Did you follow the link I posted? what are the errors in the cacti.log?

When I click in "Verbose Query" the internet explorer page doesn't any data. It follows below the screen attached.

Ah, that switch has a ton of interfaces which is why the verbose query doesn't do anything. You need to increase the timeout values in php.ini -- then iisreset.

Have you followed the debugging guide yet?

Is Host[388] the switch in question? That name is clickable from the cacti log viewer.

Click the links for DS[2665], etc. What are they for? Do you see that DS in the snmp/poller cache for that device? What are the OIDs? When you snmpwalk those OIDs, do they work? Post the output.

In the cacti log doesn't exist any for the 2672, 2674 and 2671 IDs.

Alright so back to the original problem... traffic graphs still not working for that switch? Tried to delete the data sources/graphs for it and re-creating?

The fact those errors don't repeat in the cacti log means they're intermittent.

I deleted the data source and re-created the graphs. Ow God, the problem remains.

The cacti canot create the graphs.

*sigh* you're manually creating these graphs, which is the WRONG way to do it.

Delete them again and the associated data sources.

Go to devices, click on the switch. Top right corner, click on 'create graphs for device'. On the following page, click the various interfaces you want to create graphs for. Bottom of the page, click create. Wait 10 min and then check the graphs.

Oh no! I did exactly that you recommended. I didn't create the graphs manually.

The images debugmode.JPG and Datasourcedebug.JPG I generated after I created the graphs. I perfomed the debug mode for you see it that the Cacti doesn't generate the graphs for this host.

Sorry I not posted the graphs in order. :-D

I used the "STG - SNMP Traffic Grapher - version 1.4.5" and the traffic graph is working fine.

The problem is on the SNMP or RRDTOOL?

Really. The fact the graph names or index fields are not automatically populated makes me think otherwise. Thats a strong sign cacti is unable to snmp query that device.
