[Solved!] - Graph titles
Hi everybody,
Great forum i found it very useful during my installation of cacti, especially for the rrdtool. I've successfully set it up and i'm graphing 2 6500 cisco routers correctly. Thanks to the developers and all you guys helping out. I might have a little bit of a problem that's bugging me which i've been trying to fix but can't really find any remedy. i've searched around in this forum, and also tried with using the services of a dear friend of mine (called google) without any luck.
Basically my problem is that when i found the devices and later created the graphs, the data that i got from the router showed what i needed very clearly, but also unclearly to a certain point... it's because the router has lots and lots of interfaces, and i couldn't get the port descriptions from the router! in a previous version we had (which wasn't installed by me) it was showing all the client names and such, but on this version i couldn't find how to do it. I've tried messing about with the graph template and searching for variables, but no luck.
would anybody out there know what i can do please? any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks and regards
Bernard

- Instead of Fa5/6 i'd like to see port description as labelled on cisco router.

Hi again. Thanks a lot for that - I did it, and i can see the aliases, but when i create the graphs i don't get them. I tried changing the graph template and the data source template with no luck! any more tips?

Solved!
AARGH!!
solved, and it was so easy to solve!!
i was doing it all right (with |query_ifAlias|), but there was a check box named 'Use Per-Data Source Value (ignore this value)' which i didn't know i had to uncheck!
ahh at least now it's all done
thanks guys!
