Big Gaps and missing inbound trafic on Cisco router 2811

Post by zag »

Hello,

i have problem with strange gaps and missing inbound trafic on Cisco router 2811. As you can see on the graph the outbound trafic for Fa0/0 is ok but the inbound trafic is totaly missing. The graph for Fa0/1 is great and there are no problems.

Fa0/0 is outside interface - missing inbound, small gaps
Fa0/1 is inside interface - everything is okexcept very small gaps
Tu0 is tunnel from the router to the Head Office and it must be totaly equivalent to Fa0/0 - gaps in graph

The big problem is that we have more than 40 routers all over the country and this problem is on all of them. That's the reason i think that the problem is on cacti side.

The same statistic on MRTG is without gaps and missing inbound information for al routers.

I check if i double the cron task. Only one task which is started per 5 min.
I change "Downed Device Detection" to "None" but this not solve the problem. I have nagios which monitor all the host and nagios didn't return any problems with connection to the routers.
I checked and for "SNMP timeout detected" in cacti log but no lines with that string in the log.

some info for the cacti

I'll be very happy if you give me some hints where to look for the problem. The weathermap looks very strange with info only for one direction :-)

Thank you Gandalf for this suggestion. It's help me a lot. It solved my second problem with the gaps. But i'm still in trouble with the missing inbound traffic from the remote outside router interfaces. Do you have any other ideas?

Regards

Sure. I suppose it's a problem of magnitude. Please read out loud the figures you read from the legend. I suppose you'll understand
