Re: Cacti host templates for Unix v1.3

This new version introduces the following changes:
* ucd Load Average GT seemed messed up (load5min missing, reported by eyechart). I think it is solved now.
* New Uptime GT (all OS, contributed by Mikf http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=5951)

WARNING: Import each Host Template twice!!
It seems that sometimes the templates are not correctly imported after the first import (associated grath templates and/or data queries are missing). Importing the templates *once again* seems to solve the problem (at least in cacti 0.8.6g).

Feel free to download version 1.3 of the Unix Template Set for Cacti, and use and/or redistribute it under the terms of the GPL license.

You may also check this link and leave a comment there if you use and like these templates:
http://adumont.hopto.org/~adumont/blog/tag/cacti .

For ec: Thanks for reporting the problem with load5min. I hope it is solved in this release. At least in my instalation it seems to be fine. Anyway, have a look at the warning.

ARG !
I've installed the templates and this has replaced some of the default templates, like the disk usage, memory etc !
disaster.

AVOID IT.

Which Templates has it replaced?

looking at the code I can't see anything which would do this...

That said I haven't imported them yet, so cannot be sure, anybody else had Mplotting's problem?

adumont,

Thanks for this template!! It's very useful!!

I’ve just started with Cacti and I would like to know if can I monitor the number of a specific process (or number of processes from a specific user).

Best Regards,
Lincoln

Extra tcp connection graphing tidbits.

Post by romaink »

I've written a barebones data input method and a data+graph template set to graph some extra tcp connection stats. Some info on that at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p=171452 .

I've also added a couple of few extra templates to graph some other TCP-related things exposed by SNMP.

As the first post notes, these are all cacti first-timer quality templates. Don't expect to be blown away, it's probably more of a shaky proof of concept.

Written and tested on cacti-0.8.7[de] and against RHES4 SNMP targets.

the filesystem size is wrong ,why

Post by 51join »

when I monitor my HP 7620 server using cacti 0.87f,and installed the template 1.3.All seems fine ,but I found the mounted volumn size is wrong.
Here is my bdf results:
Filesystem kbytes used avail %used Mounted on
.....
/dev/vg00/lvol6 6733824 3748672 2961840 56% /opt
......

but the cacti

,and I check the snmpwalk result,
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11.2.3.1.2.2.1.4.1073741830.9 = INTEGER: 841728
and SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11.2.3.1.2.2.1.6.1073741830.9 = INTEGER: 370230,
It same as cacti's number.
the hp snmpd return the wrong number,why???

Hi, i'm having a strange problem all of a sudden with the linux template. When I add a new Linux host it pulls in all the data for cpu mem etc. It also pulls in the data sources for the network interfaces. But, the ucd 10 fs returns success but no results. When I run it in verbose mode, here is what I get.
+ Running data query [8].
+ Found type = '6 '[script query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/script_server/host_disk.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing script for list of indexes '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/cacti/scripts/ss_host_disk.php 10.0.0.226 64 1:161:500:1:20:XXXXXXXX:::::: index'
+ Executing script query '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/cacti/scripts/ss_host_disk.php 10.0.0.226 64 1:161:500:1:20:L0lCatz:::::: query index'
+ Executing script query '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/cacti/scripts/ss_host_disk.php 10.0.0.226 64 1:161:500:1:20:L0lCatz:::::: query description'
+ Executing script query '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/cacti/scripts/ss_host_disk.php 10.0.0.226 64 1:161:500:1:20:L0lCatz:::::: query sau'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/script_server/host_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/script_server/host_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/script_server/host_disk.xml'

When I run that script from the command line it does return results properly. It's like the data sources are no longer being created for some reason. This just seemed to have started today. Also, if I try to go back to a host that previously returned results, it now returns zero results. I've run cacti in debug mode but found nothing that would point to the problem. I've also tried to reimport the graph template but that hasn't changed the output.

When I run then command snmpwalk, it's good.
The number of FileSystem may be too log ? The UX version ? It's 11.31
With another server 11.21 with 16 FileSystem it's OK and the graph have the title (mount point)

Code: Select all

[root@lxapps003 script_server]# snmpwalk -v2c it4rec -c comvie -On .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.2.2.1.10
