Was this install on top of your other [failed] cacti install? Did you uninstall apache? Is IIS running and properly configured with PHP now? Follow the installation guide.

Are you manually running poller.php on a few occasions? Looking through the cacti.log, it appears it ran fine for the majority of the time.

Cacti properly installed but still cannot bring up Cacti

Post by cactiuser77 »

I did uninstall APACHE and other components that were installed before. The IIS is running properly and configured properly with the PHP and I did follow the installation guide step bystep. As you can see from the previous log that it seems that everything was configured properly. However for some reason, i cannot log into Cacti website or get Cacti software to function properly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Alright, so when you try to log into the cacti website, what do you see/get? Does the default IIS page function?

When I try to log into the Cacti website. I do get the message as shown below

" The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. "

However I have followed the recommended instruction in regards to making sure that my IE browser is configured correctly and I still get the same message whenever I try to log into Cacti. The IIS page is functing correctly.

When you go to http://localhost/ do you see the default IIS under construction page?

When you go to http://localhost/cacti/index.php, do you get a logon screen?

When I go to either http://localhost/ or http://localhost/cacti/index.php

I do not get any default IIS under construction or a logon page respectively. I always get the error message shown below

"The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."

Well... it sounds like IIS isn't really running then. Please make the default website is running and apache is not.

Did you reboot the server, after running the Cacti windows installer? I had the same issue, but after a reboot, it fixed the issue. The underlying issue was the PHP directory was added to the path, but Windows did not pick up this change until after a reboot.

When a 64 bits version of the installer ?

...The Cacti installer is only meant for 32bit systems.

Thanks for all

The reason there is no 64bit installer, is because there are no official 64bit versions of PHP or Apache, only MySQL. You should instead follow the installation guide using the unofficial 64bit releases of those packages.

--1.91 2009-03-11
Feature: added plugin architecture and popular plugins

Against my better judgment, added the plugin arch to the installer. Just make sure ya'll post the plugin issues in the correct plugin thread! Same goes with following the instructions on how to properly enable plugins and use them ;).

BSOD2006 I used the version 0.8.7 b of your package (I don't remember if 1.85 or 1.89) to update to the new one I have to uninstall the previous one or I can install directly??
Which is the correct procedure???

Do NOT use this installer to update. Follow the standard cacti upgrade procedures: http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/upgrade.html
