take getif and you will get the OIDs of your requested parameters - try to get it over the integrated RSA (SNMP V1)

Then you will get CPU temperature, Fan speed, voltage values....

It is much easier to generate such scripts from scratch then to need hours to get foreign imported templates running as you want..

Hi,

if your work was not succesful - here are some IBM server host templates graphing fan speed and cpu temperatures:

- IBM Blade Center
- IBM x345 1 CPU
- IBM x345 2 CPU
- IBM x445 4 CPU MP
- IBM x445 4 CPU DP (for using DP cpus in a x445 - the CPUs must be inserted in defined cpu sockets)
- IBM x445 6 CPU
- IBM x445 8 CPU

it should be no problem to change these templates to other ibm server types.....

The blade center templates are graphing fan speed, power consumption and temperature of the blade center chassis.

These are only templates for the RSA cards of these server types - if you have no RS inserted they will not work...

Import the templates and create your devices with SNMP V1 - choose the right host template but first dont forget to allow cacti poll your RSA card...

One problem - under CactiEz I couldnt get the BladeCenter Fan speed running....under debian no problem...

Cheers Alex

one additional tip: I wrote that I had problems to get these values when I use CactiEZ - I found out that it is a problem with cactid - when you use cmd.php all values can be read correctly from the RSA card

I have added the voltage sensors to the BladeCenter host template.

Much fun

anyone able to get the BladeCenter one working? I get an xml parse error from cacti 0.8.7a , will go through the XML with a comb but so far it looks clean as far as I can tell.

edit: i renamed the file to a shorter name and it worked this time.

Any idea how to get this to work with the X 336 series, and a older IBM Eseries 235 server?

have you got RSA cards in these servers?
When yes - update the RSA firmware to the newest state and test the access with e.g. GetIf.

Then you will see the exact OIDs of CPU temp, fan speed, etc. Take one of my templates (e.g. x345) and change them to the right values....that´s it..

New Host Template with Thermal Output and Power Summary

Post by hangas »

Hi,

I made further changes on the BladeCenter host template in order to
plot the data from the Power Summary section on the AAM Power
Management page.

There is a new plot the the Thermal Output in BTU/hour.

There were also updates to the power domain plots (still includes Power in Use data)
