Hi all,
Yes i am a total noob, i have just installed cacti on a ubuntu VM and have had 99% success already.
I am trying to use the "Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth) " template against a 3com 4900sx switch and i get every thing i want except the "Total In:" field gives me no results.
Not a NaN, or 0 just no result. It also seems that the "Inbound" fields are improperly formatted (as in one tab to far to the leftt) I dont care about the cosmetics but might be a hint to the problem?
I have already done extensive searching, and ive come to the conclusion that i have to make sure that the template "hits" the right attribute in SNMP of my switch?
I simply dont know how to do that.
Can anyone please assist me? Thank you for your time.
Info: Switch is a 3com 4900sx, Cacti is version is ... latest (apt-get today) , i setup my device as a generic snmp host, everything else is default so snmp v1.
Im attaching a screendump. If you want a log file please tell me how to get it or which one and i shall provide.
Thanks again.

i got an answer to my own question. Thank you anyone who atleast read my problem.
In the graph template "Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth) " in item 5 there is the "COMMENT: Total In: |sum:auto:current:2:auto|<HR>" which i was having the issue with.
What i did was simple remove the <HR> (Hard return i assume) saved it, then reinserted the <HR> and now it works.
So it was just a cosmetic problem i think.
Thanks all.
