no more data when router interface added!

Post by RandomWelshBloke »

Does any one have a workaround for this:

Some of our routers are having 10+ interfaces graphed and when a new interface is added (physically) the existing interfaces stop collecting (displaying) data in cacti.

I m guessing its because cacti asks for a specific interface id from the router and this ordering will change when a new interface is added, but how can I specify the IP address instead (N.B. I ve tried doing this in the data source with no success)

Thanks for any help,

Random. :)

Why is it as soon as you post a question you figure out the answer? Any way (in-case any one else had the same problem)

It s just a matter of going into the data source, deleting the interface ID and adding the IP address.

Rax, its it possible to have the IP address as the default identifier for router interfaces?

Thanks,

Random.
