Well, I've made some headway with this and have updated all the DS with the new OIDs.
I am currently only able to successfully graph the first SAN in the group, but it's a start. Pointers welcome - this is all new to me.

Got them working
I just put in a group of 3 and found that each unit and storage processor has a unique OID for it. So I had to modify all the OID's in the templates to match my machines.
The second from last number in the OID is what must be changed.
What was in the template
.enterprises.12740.2.1.7.1.3.1.318890316.1
What I had to change.
.enterprises.12740.2.1.7.1.3.1.1172725158.1
This is for all OID's in the template. the number 1172725158 is for my EQ storage processor 1 only. I recommend using snmpget on OID .enterprises.12740.2.1.7.1.3.1. To find the OID that is unique to your EQ. Then use search and replace on the XML template before importing. Note that there is a unique value for EACH storage processor.

Yep, those were exactly my findings. I had to create mutliple templates to account for each SAN as each OID query was unique to each SAN.
I foung the quickest way to get the correct OID off each SAN was to run the mrtg-cfg command from each CLI. This config contained the listed OID identifier.
So what I've done is create 3 templates - SAN1-3 - and all you need to do to make them work with your SAN(s) is to update the OID in the template after you've imported it.
A bit of a pain I know, but until someone here can write a script to automate this, it's as good as i can make it.
Oh, you can't just go and change the OID's in the XML as when you import it, it just overwrites the one you exported!
Anyway, here's my 3 final (for now) SAN templates. They will graph the following from 3 EqualLogic SANs;
- Fan speeds
- Temperatures (for both active and redundant controller modules)
- Total IOPS/sec
- Total bytes/sec
- Latency
- Network interfaces
I think that's about it. Let me know how you get on
