Mac OS X - .rrd - files not created

Post by toldor »

hello *,

i have following problem. i leopard and tried to install cacti. i used the installation instruction form macports.com. so far my cacti is running. problem is that i can't create rrd-files from within cacti. when i use the syntax ( "turn on debug mode") für rrdtool manually it creates the rrd-file in the rra-directory. so i think it must be a rights problem for php or apache. but i can't find where the problem could be. as long as i dont know which information i need to provide here, i would be happy if u can tell me which informations u need.

regards,
marko

rra directory

If you used MacPorts to install it's likely here:

/opt/local/share/cacti

the directory rra in here should be set to
chmod 755
chown _www
you can use the -R option or cd inside and set all to the same as well.
This should give apache and php write and create privileages.
