Hi, I have a problem and hope to find some help here.

I copied the snmp_informant_disk.xml to the right directory and imported the templates as the instructions says. By the way, very well and detailed written instructions, just as others have said. Created the graphs through "Create Graphs for this Host" where I saw that I had data returning from the snmp queries (Success [3 Items, 3 Rows]).

Everything looks fine, except that I don't get any graphs, the images don't even get created.

My Cacti version is 0.8.6j.

I have tried to monitor two different operating systems, none of them working:
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64, installed the informant-snmp standard. Didn't do anything else, but snmpwalk looks fine.
Windows XP Pro, didn't work at first, so I tried diskperf -y and a reboot. Didn't work after that either. So I somehow think it's cacti/template-related, maybe snmp.

Since I am using RHEL I am "stuck" with their net-snmp, it's version 5.3.1-24.el5_2.1.
EDIT:I tried with net-snmp-5.4.1.2 anyway, since cacti could easy be reconfigured to use specific binaries. No success. :(

This is what I get in my log regarding the XP host (the other looks the same)

I guess the ERROR: Problems parsing Multi SNMP OID! and the two concated OIDS are my problems. I am not that very familiar with snmp and it might be something I don't know. But can you really concat two OIDs like that and use it?

Anyone have any tip for me?

Most thankful for all help.

EDIT:
I have also tried to upgrade to spine-0.8.7a and cacti-0.8.7b, no change.
EDIT2:
Problem "solved", seems like the templates don't go well with rrdtool 1.2 or something. I removed the Free space LINE and added colors to the other Lines that didn't have. The clue was: "ERROR: Legend set but no color: Write /s".

Sorry for disturbing. I will just break down the graph and build it up again more as I want it.

But it doesn't appear anything in the graphic tree.

Have somebody ever solve this kind of problem ?
Need your help.

Darwins Post on Page 7 and his included xml files worked for me on Cacti 8.7b

Only thing I did different was using the custom RRA settings when importing the templates.

This was all after 3 days of messing around with the original poster's XML files and not getting any results.

Mods may want to think about locking this thead or at least modifying the original posters files.

Fixed it all

Post by bodazyphir »

Hi All,

I have fixed all the problems in this thread ....

Fixed up several issues with the XML output tages in the data query. Seprated the graphs out so they all contain data that is relevant to the x/y axis.

Install these as per :

- Import Graph templates and Data template via the gui
- Save the Data Query in the <cactihome>resource/snmp_queries/ directory.

Happy hunting ,
Bodazyphir

I have imported the templates as instructed and the data queries appear to be working but the graphs are not rendering, I get the following error from debug mode:

Code: Select all

ERROR: Legend set but no color: Available\:
I have checked the graph template and the colours appear correctly in the listing.

I'm attempting to install this process and when I select the SNMP - Informant Disk Statistics and add it to the list of associated queries, I get a 0 results back. Verbose of the query shows that it can't find the file, but the file is in the proper directory with the same permissions as the other files.

+ Could not find data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/snmp_informant_disk.xml'
Here is the output of that directory listing:

Code: Select all

[root@oscar /usr/local/share/cacti/resource/snmp_queries]# ls
host_disk.xml net-snmp_disk.xml	snmp_informant_disk.xml
interface.xml netware_cpu.xml
kbridge.xml netware_disk.xml
[root@oscar /usr/local/share/cacti/resource/snmp_queries]#
I did notice that the directory listed in the verbose output doesn't match the location of the file, but there is no such directory on the system as /usr/share/cacti and other of the scripts show the same location for files like this one:

Code: Select all

+ Running data query [9].
+ Found type = '6 '[script query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.

+ Executing script query '/usr/bin/php -q /usr/share/cacti/site/scripts/ss_host_cpu.php 66.179.207.140 26 2:161:500:1:10:public:::MD5::DES: query index'
+ Found item [hrProcessorFrwID='0'] index: 0
+ Found item [hrProcessorFrwID='1'] index: 1
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/script_server/host_cpu.xml'
The above script runs fine and says the file is located in /usr/share/cacti/etc/etc/ The root folder of /usr/share/cacti just simply doesn't exist so I'm not sure what it's talking about.

I'd appreciate any assistance on this.
