Retrieving data from mysql

Hello

I have a large mysql database filled with data that i need to transfer to cacti.

As i recall you cant put older data into rrd-tools database then the date or seconds it was created, so how can i tell the cacti to create a database that is older then the data in the mysql database ?

More questions :)

How can i input the data from mysql into the cacti at the sametime, like not after every 5 min or 2 sec, but almost instanly, because after the old data has been imported cacti should start getting data again in 5 min intervals ?

If you dont know what i mean then let me know and i'll try to be more clear :)
