.6.8 upgrade problems

Post by eyechart »

getting some strange errors after upgrading to .6.8 version on win2k (IIS)

At the login screen I now get this error:
Warning: open(/tmp\sess_ce8c93c162f54a470494a737a27a04e0, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\include\auth.php on line 30

and I also see these errors:

Warning: open(/tmp\sess_ce8c93c162f54a470494a737a27a04e0, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

any ideas?

One change in 0.6.8 is the use of PHP's sessions instead of cookies. Make sure your 'session.save_path' variable is set to something valid in your php.ini file. You must give it the path to a directory that is writable by your web server user. Making that change worked for me under Win2k.
