cacti high cpu load

Post by treeves »

For some reason everynight my cacti is creating a high cpu load btw 80% and 90%. It does not do this doing the day. Does anyone know why this is or have a fix for this. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks

Hi,

I had some problems with cpu load, but it occured as soon as I reloaded a page through the web browser. Then the load was very high and did not go away.
I updated the php-libs; this was only possible if I update the glib; glib could not be updated through yast (I have a Suse distribution) without any more problems. So I updated the whole system (Suse 9.0) and all works fine.
The php-version I use is:
PHP 4.3.3 (cgi) (built: Nov 10 2003 13:05:54)
Copyright (c) 1997-2003 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2003 Zend Technologies

Greetings

Are you using CACTID? If so, you will need to update to 0.8.6 once available. You may choose to revert to CMD.PHP until then.
