Cacti 8.7b - No Monitor tab

Post by hein »

Hello,

I'm running Cacti 8.7b on a Windows XP SP3 box with plugin architecture 2.1. I installed the Discovery plugin without any problems and today I've tried installing the monitor plugin but haven't had any luck.

I placed the 'monitor' folder in the plugin directory and modified my global.php file to look like the following..

$plugins = array();
$plugins[] = 'monitor';
$plugins[] = 'discovery';

I tried moving the discovery plugin above the monitor plugin, in my global.php file, but it didn't have any effect.

If you have PIA 2.1 installed, go into Plugin Management, and enable the plugin from there.

There shouldn't be any need to add the plugin into global.php.

Hope this helps.

I don't have any plugins listed under Plugin Management. Any ideas why?

I thought that it was strange that my Discovery plugin wasn't listed there when I got it installed . But the discovery plugin is working without a hitch.

Did you import pa.sql? I think you might see this sort of behaviour in that situation...
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

I've already imported the pa.sql file.

Any errors in the log ? Might be worth reapplying the files, and checking permissions on them ?

I looked at the actual folder permissions and for whatever reason the permissions were not inherited from the parent folder. Thanks for your help troubleshooting this one.

Simply check into the user permission (also if you are admin) the monitor view. (Example: User permission -> admin -> Realm permissions).

Bye
