[Solved] Spine and mysql.sock connection problem

Post by groovee »

Hello Everyone,

I am new in cacti, but I'm learning quickly:)

I have xampp server on slackware machine and cacti.
It works fine with spoller.php but i want to run spine now.

I have mysql.sock not in /var/run/mysql/ as default but in /opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock

in cron there was not a problem, i've selected php bin from lampp and it works witch correct socket.

How can I select correct socket for spine?

Best Regards,

Kacper

--- SOLUTION: ----

ln -s /opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock

You should really be changing that in '/etc/my.cnf', not creating a symbolic link.

And as a note, it would be appreciated if you added a note to your post (as well as editing the subject) when something is resolved. This way, it is removed from 'Unanswered Posts' which many of the Forum admins use for finding new posts...

Thanks for You answer.
I can't edit my.conf because I have xampp and many others scripts are using difrent paths.

In my opinion it is easier to add symlink for one script then editing many more 'old' scripts.

Kacper
