MySQL Errors with Cacti for Windows 2000

Post by thall »

I keep getting the following error when trying to connect to MySQL.

Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in c:\apache\htdocs\cacti\auth\include\database.php on line 18

Has anyone experienced this while trying to get Cacti to work? Does anyone know how to correct this?

I had the same problem in linux, turned out I did not have the MySQL daemon running. Perhaps you don't have the service running in windows?

Hope this helps!

Yes, like casey said this is most likely due to the fact that the MySQL service is not running. In windows, you can use the "MySQL Manager" to install MySQL as a service. Then you can start and stop it like any other NT service.
