some graphs showing up but some not?

some graphs showing up but some not?
I've recently installed cacti and have configured it to start making a few graphs for two of our servers. I'm not getting any errors from the rrdtool when i put it into debug mode, i can actually see the graph when i'm configuring the specific instance
if i go to the graphs tab up top (Graphs -> Tree Mode) all of my graphs show up as broken images. If i click on one of my machines in the tree, they also show up as broken images
however, if i click on one of those broken images it brings me to a page with the 5min/30min/2hr/1day averages for that specific graph and the graphs all show up correctly with data and everything
any ideas what could cause the images on this pages not to work?
any help would be appreciated!
thanks

UPDATE:
if i save or view the source of the image that isn't showing up:
[mydomain.com]/graph_image.php?local_graph_id=28&rra_id=0&view_type=tree&graph_start=1220557135&graph_end=1220643535
the only thing that shows up is a "0"
Has anyone else experienced similar issues? if so, how would you recommend going about fixing this?
Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up gandalf. I have downgraded rrd tool to rrdtool-1.2.28 and have changed my RRDTool Binary Path to /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.28/bin/rrdtool but I'm still experiencing the same problems. Is there something I need to do to flush the current graphs? Or is there any way I can get at least some kind of error other than the image showing up as simply "0"
Thanks

not sure if this information is going to really affect anything
also, our MySQL instance is on a separate box
Code: Select all
uname -a
Linux web01.mydomain.local 2.6.18-53.1.19.el5 #1 SMP Wed May 7 08:20:19 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
I don't get any errors from Apache while I'm in tree mode, but if i click through to just show a single graph on a page it spits out this error:
[Tue Sep 09 16:05:12 2008] [error] [client 10.1.1.133] PHP Notice: Undefined index: id in /home/cacti/public_html/graph.php on line 214, referer: http://cacti.mydomain.local/graph.php?a ... rra_id=all
