Not sure how this is a plugin announcement, but...

1) do a test install on a spare system/VM just so you know how it works. It shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes - I do one in a couple of minutes, with some experience.

2) follow the install instructions for an upgrade. On the same machine (or at least the same OS/architecture), it's basically a case of doing a fresh install, copying in your rra/ directory and pointing it at the existing database. The installer knows how to update the database as necessary when you move to a new version.

If you have plugins (check the existing install for a plugins/ directory) then you'll need to install the Plugin Archictecture too, and the latest versions of those plugins - another good reason to have a test install to experiment on.

Have fun! :-)
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

So it's not a migration or an upgrade, it's merging two installations (maybe upgrading one first)?

That's a tough one. The only way for one of us to build one of those is to actually perform such a thing. It would be best to do this as a professional services engagement. The benefit for you would be that you would get the credit for being the one who helped create it with your companies $$$.
