syslog: syslog_process.php

Post by av8rgeek »

Is there a simple way to make syslog_process.php have a max number of instances it can run? I load the syslog plugin on my dual quad-core Xeon system w/4GB RAM and it brings the server to its knees in a heartbeat when I execute any query on it.

I have > 236 instances of syslog_process.php being executed. They've been running for nearly 45 minutes like this, all to filter the syslog results.

Thanks,

Chris

It shouldn't be doing this. This means that they are hanging on the syslog messages.

How many entries are there in syslog_incoming? Kill all the processes and run it from the command line in debug mode and post the results.
