Fix hosts using local scripts instead of SNMP

Post by smcavoy »

I need to fix 100+ hosts that have been configured to monitoring several items (load, users, etc.) using locally executed scripts and not SNMP. This then repeats the results of the cacti server in each hosts' data, not useful :)

Is there a fairly painless way to change all of these at once? They all use the same data template.

Yes, it is: use the cli scripts.
AS your current rrd data will not be helpful. I recommend deleting those hosts and the associated rrd files and start from scratch
- use add_hosts.php to add hosts
- use add_graphs.php to add graphs
Depending on your needs use add_tree.php to add selected items to specific trees
