cacti not working, weird graphs, etc. version 0.8.7b

Hello i have a problem.
I installed cacti and all things, everything should be fine, I get no errors but the graphs are screwed, nothing much to see and no legend.

I am also experiencing an identical issue. I have read some reports that it was an issue with rrdtool, so I have replaced it with several other versions with no change in this behavior.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was playing around and I came up with a fix...

Open the file "lib/rrd.pnp" and go to line 1905

You will see the following...
$font = "";

Change it to the following...
$font = "/usr/share/rrdtool/fonts/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf";

You will obviously need to verify that you have this font installed... Odds are that you do as it is the default rrdtool font.
