[INFO] SENTINIX

Post by kwabbernoot »

Hi,

Just to inform you.

SENTINIX is a GNU/Linux distribution designed for monitoring, intrusion detection, penetration testing, auditing, statistics/graphing and anti-spam.
It's completely free; free to use, free to modify and free to distribute.
SENTINIX includes the following software, installed and pre-configured; Nagios, Nagat, Snort, SnortCenter, ACID, Cacti, RRDTool, Nessus, Postfix, MailScanner, SpamAssassin, openMosix, MySQL, Apache, PHP, Perl, Python and lots more.

I am currently playing with it and it looks promissing. Even Cactid compiles and runs without problems. :D
They are now at version 0.70.5 that includes Cacti 0.8.3a. You can download a package update to install Cacti version 0.8.4.

If you want to check it out, the URL : http://sentinix.org

I tested SENTINIX and the installation is easy also on my Compaq notebook.

Cacti version 0.8.3a
Nagios version 1.1
Snort 1.0

Overall it's looking good and for me as Linux Newbie a good place to start.

Try it !

I know it is out dated, but does anyone have a copy of any of the files stored away somewhere?

The files are

097edd6769034fe77070c2a3b6970a84 sentinix-fullsource-0.52.tar.gz
43b58d37ccaa11bf46267eb27fb82ebf sentinix.1.beta01.iso
b8f94c4f2a8712bfdcfd72f316a4fe84 sentinix-fullsource-0.53.tar.gz
15265767531db906ada0a04123051363 sentinix-0.70.5.iso

If so, could I get a copy?

TIA
Rob
