problem with editor.php

Post by hacktarus »

hi everybody,
i've a problem with editor.php that when i try to edit map alert me this error message:
"Welcome to the PHP Weathermap 0.95b editor.

NOTE: This editor is not finished! There are many features of Weathermap that you will be missing out on if you choose to use the editor only. These include: curves, node offsets, font definitions, colour changing, per-node/per-link settings and image uploading. You CAN use the editor without damaging these features if you added them by hand, however."

The configurator seems to work only by hands-editing the file.conf in configs directory which has apache privileges. I can visualize also the map but i'm not able to edit map from the editor.php.... I check all by the check.php and its outuput makes me know that i've only a problem with gd2 libraries but i've just compiled php5 with php5-gd. I use ubuntu server 8.04 with apache2, php5, cacti 0.87b p.a. 2.1 weathermap 0.95b, I try by every tips&tricks but i'm not so lucky. I hope in some skills
thanks

What error message?

It's telling you that the editor is not complete, which is true. It's not telling you it's broken or unusable. You just can't use every single weathermap feature from the editor.

BUT - if check.php says you a missing GD, then you MUST fix that before the editor OR weathermap will function.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

and this one is about techincal support:

As you can see gd2 is fixed
but editor.php doesn't still working rightly

just to make wrap-up i can visualize the editor.php i can only add node and select map properties the other functions say me that are not ready and if i click on editor setting appear a pop-up windows where say "not yet". I suppose that I miss something but i dont't know what.

Thanks 4 any suggestions

You can add nodes, you can add links, you can change node and link properties (including move nodes). You can add TARGETs to links (but not nodes) and pick them from the cacti database.

That's enough to do 80% of what you need. The things that say 'not yet' are the things that aren't complete. That's why it says that the editor isn't finished. I didn't have those messages before, and I got complaints about missing things. So I added a message to explain the missing things.

Ok that's true it's works at 80% and makes me think good but it's my curiosity know about
lets work the other 20%. I've installed it about 4 - 5 times and give me always same message.
I try and try until the end to make it works at 100%
:D

However all suggestions are always welcome

IT DOESN'T WORK 100%!!! IT IS NOT COMPLETE!!!

That is normal. It's not your installation. There just isn't a complete editor.
