ERROR: The POPEN timed out

Post by Francesc »

Hello,

I have a Dual Core Xeon at 3GHZ and 1GB of RAM, with a Debian Lenny and Cacti 0.8.7b with poller SPINE, installed on it.

Currently i'm monitoring only 11 servers, but the graphs appears with gaps, the gaps appears aprox. every 6 hours. Looking the logs can see this errors:

SPINE: Poller[0] Host[7] ERROR: The POPEN timed out.

and

SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: Spine Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal

I've been reading about it, and increased the timeout in php.ini (i'm not sure if this can help me) but this don't solve the problem. I don't find in forum or everywhere the solution of this problem.

Can anybody help me?
Thanks
Francesc

Probably I have an idea for you - try checking if Availability/Reachability Options for this host are enable (either of them). this should help spine to check if the device is at least online and not hang it...
