ping tests on a win32 server

Post by eddy »

I have a win2k server running php 4.2.0, mysql 3.23.49, apache 1.3.24 and Cacti 0.6.7 and i would like to graph ping times across the wan. when i use ping.pl I get errors stating that grep is not recognised as and internal or external command. Does any have a script the I can use?

You can install the http://www.cygwin.com binaries which supply almost all the unix-equivalent utilities you could want under win32.

Or you can just install standalone unix commands from: http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/

Also, do a search on Google for mrtg-ping-probe by Peter W. Osel. I've been working on several Win2k based throughput testing tools, I'll post them when we've got a contrib folder going...

Thanks for the help. I have installed unixutils and added awk which was missing and now I am able to run ping.pl.

I have set up a new data source to ping a network object (a router) 10 times and when I run cmd.php I see no errors but my graph shows no values.

Is there a problem with the microsoft version of Ping? Or have I missed something?
