Problems after upgrading cacti

Post by SSU »

We recently upgraded cacti from 0.8.6i to 0.8.7b . After the upgrade, we noticed that some graphs weren't working. It seems cacti was changing the RRDtool command for certain graphs.

Cacti was appending an "FF" to the end of the hex color values. For example on one graph the original RRDtool command would pass this:
LINE1:cdefea#000000:"total"
which had been changed in the upgraded version to:
LINE1:cdefea#000000FF:"total"

Also the CDEF value had been changed, for example on one graph:
CDEF:cdefea=TIME,1212528267,GT,b,b,UN,0,b,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,d,d,UN,0,d,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,f,f,UN,0,f,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,h,h,UN,0,h,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,j
,j,UN,0,j,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,bb,bb,UN,0,bb,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,bd,bd,UN,0,bd,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,bf,bf,UN,0,bf,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,bh,bh,UN,0,bh,IF,IF,TIME,1212528267,GT,bj,bj,UN,0,bj,IF,IF,+,+,+,+,+,+,+,+,+
became
CDEF:cdefea=

For now we have gone back to 6i but would like to upgrade, we just need to figure out why these RRDtool commands get changed after the upgrade. Any help or input would be much appreciated, thanks.

The "FF" is the alpha setting. If you have your RRDtool version set correctly, this is not an issue.

As for the CDEF, I'm sorry I don't know what changed there.

Thanks for responding. How would we go about correctly setting our RRDtool version?

Do you just mean the RRDtool Utility Version in the cacti settings? If, so we have RRDtool 1.2.23-rf installed and in the settings for cacti it's set to 1.2.x.

Thanks again.

Then the "FF" shouldn't be affecting the graphs.
